Mountain Area Radio Reading Service (MARRS) links people who are blind, visually or print impaired to their Western North Carolina community through audio access to printed material.

We are pleased to announce that MARRS has been selected as the February recipient of the “Community Box” program which is sponsored monthly by Chiesa restaurant. Chiesa selects a charity each month, and matches cash contributions from its patrons up to a total of $500.

Chiesa is a wonderful Italian restaurant featuring traditional family recipes, and a farm to table menu which changes with the seasons. They are located in a building which was once a church, hence the name Chiesa—Italian for Church. Chiesa is located at 152 Montford Avenue, with convenient curbside drop-off, and handicap parking at the rear of the building. Reservations are highly recommended. Please call 828-552-3110.

Please join us at Chiesa in February and support MARRS. Feel free to forward this notice to your friends and family. Your generosity as a volunteer or contributor is greatly appreciated.

When listening to MARRS using a smart speaker such as the Amazon Alexa line of devices, please use the following phrase: “Alexa, play the Mountain Area Radio Reading Service on TuneIn”. Note that the actual MARRS abbreviation cannot be used, as Alexa will most likely assume you are asking to listen to songs from mainstream musical artists.
